History 1971-1980 

1971

Hans Heinrich and Severin Coninx as well as Antje Ellermann, all from the fourth generation of the owner family, join the Board of Directors as non-voting junior members.
The magazine Schweizer Heim is integrated in Schweizer Familie.

1973

The year is one of the most successful business years in the company history. Circulation reaches 234,455 copies and the annual number of pages the record amount of 28,830 pages. Hans Heinrich Coninx joins the company as assistant to management.
Construction of a new printing works is begun on Kohlengasse.

1974

The Tages-Anzeiger Magazin is awarded the culture price of the city of Zurich.
The circulation of Schweizer Familie exceeds 300,000 copies.

1975

The Swiss economy experiences a severe recession. Compared to the record year of 1973, ads in the main paper decrease by 11% and the scope of the Stellen-Anzeiger even by 65%.
The move into the new company building on Kohlengasse, the first phase of a large printing works complex, takes place.

1976

Circulation of the Tages-Anzeiger surpasses the quarter million mark with 250,720 copies.

1978

Werner Coninx abstains from making himself available for reelection to the administrative board. His son Severin is elected as well as Hans Heinrich Coninx.
A new weekly supplement, the Wochenprogramm, is introduced and inserted in the main paper every Friday.
An era comes to a close. Otto Coninx retires at the end of the year after 36 years of active company management.
