The «Lifestyle» program of TeleZüri was rewarded with the Swiss Television Award within the «Regional» category. The jury stated in its honouring note that the program appears «as fresh as the spring fashion» even after twelve years of broadcasting. The Swiss Television Award, introduced jointly by the Swiss television program magazines Tele and TV-Star, was presented for the second time. The award within the «Sendung» category was chosen by a general public vote. For all other categories, a jury with media experts voted to elect the respective winners.

The Zürcher Journalistenpreis, the Zurich Award for outstanding Journalism, was rewarded for the 30th time, and presented to the winners at the occasion of a ceremony at Bernhard Theater, a Zurich downtown theatre. The jury had to chose out of 121 entries by journalists, and rewarded, among others, Mathias Ninck from the magazine Das Magazin. He is rewarded in the Magazine category for his article about Ernst Roduner, a former federal investigator. Ninck focussed on the Swiss judiciary system, which, according to the jury, does not like to be in the media focus at all. He reported about a man who does not correspond with the image of the independent, unprejudiced and impartial judge, as Fredy Gsteiger, president of the jury, said in his laudation.
Fredy Gsteiger, president, from the national Swiss radio network DRS, Andrea Masüger from the daily newspaper Südostschweiz, Susanne Mühlemann from the magazine Bilanz, Margrit Sprecher, independent journalist, und Marco Meier from the national Swiss Radio network DRS were members of the jury.
10 000 Swiss francs are rewarded in all categories.

The Mamablog authors Michèle Binswanger and Nicole Althaus are announced Journalists of the Year on 16 Dezember. They won a public voting by the special interest magazine Schweizer Journalist. By rewarding the two journalists, for the first time ever online journalists have been receiving this prestigious price – which represents outstanding journalistic achievements. The Mamablog on the Newsnetz is therefore the first Swiss online platform being rewarded with the price. Schweizer Journalist established the voting and election in a two-step process. First step, nominations by readers, experts and jury members could be proposed. For the public vote, some 1’500 selected experts had the chance to participate in this round.
