The newspaper for the northern part of the canton of Zurich
The history of the Zürcher Unterländer goes back until the 19th century. The «ZU», as the newspaper is being called these days, arose by the merger of several regional and local newspapers. Ancestors of modern time Zürcher Unterländer are Wochenblatt der Bezirke Bülach und Regensberg (1850), Lägern-Bote (1859), Volksblatt von Dielsdorf (1869), Wehntaler (1883), Glatt (1891), and finally Zürichbieter, which itself merged last with Zürcher Unterländer in the year 1989. The Zürcher Unterländer reports every day about regional and local events and news in the northern part of the canton of Zurich, complemented by news from around the world. Furthermore, the Zürcher Unterländer is the official gazette of the districts of Bülach and Dielsdorf.
The Zürcher Unterländer is part of the Media Zurich Division.
