The newspaper for the Espace Mittelland region
The Berner Zeitung is Switzerland's third-largest subscription newspaper, and the largest daily newspaper in the Espace Mittelland region and in the canton of Berne. The main focus of this leading regional newspaper is its comprehensive regional news and sports coverage. The Berner Zeitung is published in three regional editions for the city and region of Berne, the Emmental and Oberaargau areas, but it also covers the main section news for the Berner Oberländer and the Thuner Tagblatt daily newspapers. It fully caters to all information requirements of its readers in the Espace Mittelland region. The Berner Zeitung grew out of several daily newspapers in the canton of Berne, all of them having a long tradition dating well back into the 19th century.
