Open Development Projects

Tamedia is searching for motivated and creative, talented people

The Open Development Projects are a competition of ideas based on the model of the known «Hack Days» of large companies in the USA and Germany. The target groups of the event are students, freelancers, full-time employees and creative people from the areas of web design, interface design, entrepreneurship and project management.  

Procedure
Groups are to develop ideas to implement correspondingly in online projects of the SonntagsZeitung and FashionFriends.ch. One winning group will be selected for each of the two projects from the submitted entries by a jury composed of prominent members. In addition to the chance of implementing the two winning contributions on the pages of SonntagsZeitung and FashionFriends.ch, the winners can expect a surprise prize each and there will be numerous consolation prizes for the other participants.

After receiving constructive criticism from the community, the mode was adapted in such a way that the rights for the entries submitted for the contest remain with the contestants. In addition to the projects of SonntagsZeitung and FashionFriends.ch, invitations have also been sent out by 20 Minuten Online, Doodle and search.ch to submit additional projects.

Schedule
The event will take place on Saturday, 9 March, and Sunday, 10 March 2013, at the main office of Tamedia located at Werdstrasse 21 in Zurich. During these two days, the project groups will work on their contributions. The presentations and the award ceremony as well as a subsequent networking cocktail hour will take place on Monday evening, 11 March 2013, starting at 5 p.m.

Application
Groups of a minimum of three people and a maximum of six or individuals can submit applications.

The number of participants is limited to 50 persons. Applications received by Monday, 25 February 2013 will be considered. The selected project groups and individuals will be informed of definitive participation on Monday, 25 February 2013.
