What is native advertising?

Native advertising is paid advertising. Unlike branded content, the customer only specifies the topic. The Commercial Publishing department of Tamedia is responsible for implementing the campaign. The product/service is not directly advertised in native campaigns. Customers can use native advertising to cover topics that are important to them. Our claim as native advertisers can be expressed quite simply: we want to provide readers with content that will interest them rather than bore them. Cheeky, smart, charming, but above all infectiously open and honest – that’s how we want our content to come across.

Definition
Native advertising is paid advertising that is not very different from traditional journalistic writing in terms of form and content.

Declaration
Precisely because native advertising is so similar to journalistic content, it is essential to make a transparent, clearly visible declaration.

Advertising contract
The native advertising material is prepared in consultation with the customer, and establishes a link with the product, service or communication topic that the customer wishes to advertise.

What is branded content?

Branded content is another form of paid advertising. Unlike native advertising, the article is centred around the product or service. Branded content is referred to in the digital editorial language of 20 Minuten as a “paid post”. “Paid post” teasers are placed on the desktop and mobile front. “Paid post” articles are subject to the editorial guidelines and CI specifications of 20 Minuten, and require the consent of the editorial and publishing management. The text is written by the client and supplied in all the required languages. On request, and in exchange for additional production costs, 20 Minuten can also produce the text for you.
